About Cyto Pulse Sciences, Inc.

History

Cyto Pulse was founded in December 1995 and is incorporated as a regular C corporation in Maryland. The company is composed of a multidisciplinary staff of engineers and scientists. Cyto Pulse develops electric field based devices for use in vaccine delivery, vaccine production, personal vaccine production, gene therapy, and hybridoma production.

In recent years, there have been great advances in immunotherapy and gene therapy against such difficult targets as metastatic cancer, genetic defects, and acute viral infections. In many cases these advances have relied on the use of DNA and RNA. Today there are still no approved clinical uses of this technology because of the inability to deliver, safely and effectively, the DNA/RNA into the target cells. Cyto Pulse, a medical device company, has solved this problem with proprietary technologies using non-viral electric fields. After extensive preclinical studies these are now entering several human trials. The principal Cyto Pulse applications are the production of DNA therapeutic vaccines, delivery of DNA vaccines, modification of cell genomes to correct genetic defects, production of hybridoma vaccines by fusing immune system cells and tumor cells, and the production of hybridomas used to produce monoclonal antibodies. The annual markets for these treatments and vaccines are expected to be in the billions of dollars per year. The Cyto Pulse expertise and intellectual property is in waveform generators and electrodes for use in immunology and viral target vaccine applications.

Management

Cyto Pulse was founded by Richard Walters, MSEE, MBA and Alan King, DVM, Ph.D. Mr. Walters worked for the Department of Defense for 13 years, then founded a signal processing company which was eventually acquired by a NASDAQ company. Dr. King retired as a Lt Col. in the Army from the Infectious Diseases Branch at WRAIR. His expertise is in immunology and infectious diseases. Over the years he has spent time conducting infectious disease research in the Thailand, Peru, and Haiti.

Facility

Cyto Pulse has a new 7000 square foot facility with a large bio laboratory, R&D electronics laboratory, QSR production facility and 200 square foot ISO 14644 compliant 'Class 5' clean room with sterilization apparatus.
